So, after a sharp tongue lashing from friends, lol, and a lot of thought I have decided to restart my blog. I admit, I lost focus! It happens to the best of us, but I’ve been seeing some crazy things out here that I need to share. I learn from all of my experiences so I need to continue to share them! Not only will I be sharing life experiences and inspiration as I did previously. I will also be incorporating some things from my event planning business, The Bell Experience. So hold on tight. . . Your in for a crazy ride! Lol.
Ok, yes! I name this next blog entry ” Twerk Some”, yes I did it. . . And I know you wanna know why. Lol. I also know for my ATL family, your minds went straight to the Ying Yang Twins songs. Lol. Ok, come back! LOL. For the past few months my friends and I have been living on purpose. We have been going to different social events, networking events, and parties. Of course attending all these events we meet a plethora of people. I’m not one to judge, I accept people for who they are, but some people becoming really strange. . . . So a few weeks ago a friend of mine and I attended a great party, mature crowd, caught up with a few old friends, meet some new ones. That always good right? I thought so too. Until my friend meet a young lady on the way from the restroom. The young lady attended the party alone, so my friend decides to let her hang out with us for a little while. Seemed innocent enough, until men start to come around. So one of my guy friends comes to the table and the young lady turns into a dog in heat on viagra! She literally start twerking on him in the middle of our conversation! At first I thought it was a fluke! I looked at my friend and asked “Is this a joke?” I sat there with my mouth wide open watching, in a state of confusion thinking who did we invite to the table! Oh No! Come to find out she made no mistake, she wasn’t done yet. Another guy came over and she did the same thing! It was like the twerk attack I saw the news and I was in the middle of it! What in the world was going? There was clearly a lack of self-respect, self esteem, and self worth. I’m no dating expert, but I can pretty much guarantee that a real man is not attracted to what I call the twerk attack. Ladies, please don’t belittle yourself or compromise your morals for the attention of others. Is not worth it!
Unfortunately this is not the only twerk attack I have witnessed. Apparently it’s become an epidemic! It’s spreading like wildfire! So just the other night, a few of us went out for dinner and drinks. While waiting to be seated we hung out in the bar area. I saw these two young ladies dancing near the bar, nothing unusual, so we made sure we stay out of their way so they have space. They were a little tipsy, but they seem like they were having fun. Lol. While waiting, this young man started a conversation with me. We were in pretty close proximity, it was the loud music was playing with a lot of people around. We wanted to make sure we can hear one another. Basically he was in my personal space, lol. So as we were conversing out of the blue one the young ladies that was dancing came between us and literally started twerking on him, yes once again in the middle of our conversation! The twerk strikes again!!!! Lol. I looked at the guy and said “she obviously wants your attention, I’ll let you have that”. He looks at me and says “unfortunately I know her”. Wow, he use the word unfortunately. Obviously this is not attractive to him. He moved away from her and left her there twerking the air and we continued our conversation. Ladies, attention seeking is not attractive. ”

is not attractive. The women in my story were about mid to late thirtys. . . . Too old for this foolishness. Ladies I wish we understood who we are. We are Queens, we are worthy, we are like precious gems. Once we realize who we are we will not compromise our self worth. We are worth more than what’s between on legs, and if a man doesn’t understand that he is not the one for you. I’ve personally been studying the Proverbs 31 woman. She was regal, intelligent, business minded, but also took care of her family and home first and foremost. I promise you she was not twerking on random men in public, I’m just saying. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with these characteristics and striving to exude them daily. The point of my story is that once you realize who you are and your value you will attract what you really want and need!
Love you guys, thanks for reading Shayla Bell Do Tell. 🙂
